Shark teeth are some of the most collectible fossils on the paleo market.  Shark tooth patterns, colors, and shapes vary so widely that some collectors collect nothing else.  Some of the most desireable are specimens from the Aurora mine, the North Carolina "red site" and Peru.

Chubutensis, Ptychodus, Otodus, Hemipristis, mako, tiger shark, Squalicorax, bull shark, dusky shark, and lemon shark teeth are all desireable, but high quality teeth from the giant Megalodon, the largest shark that ever lived, seem to be the most sought-after.  With a number of teeth over 7 inches long on record, some paleontologists  estimate the megalodon was over 70 feet long!

None of the teeth on this page have restoration, unless otherwise noted.  Please understand, I tried to eliminate gloss in the photos to show the details of the teeth.  The teeth are glossy as usual.
