Basic Brachiosaurid Info

Brachiosaurus
A widespread genus, Brachiosaurus towered over its landscape during the late Jurassic.  At a massive 100,000 pounds, it was up to 50 feet tall, though the natural position of its long neck it debated.  Like other Brachiosaurids, it would have had a giraffe-like stance, hence the name of another genus, Giraffatitan (below).

Sauroposeidon
Known from four neck vertebrae discovered in Oklahoma, Sauroposeidon was the largest Brachiosaurid and the tallest animal ever to walk the planet.  Based on remains of other Brachiosaurids, it is estimated Sauroposeidon stood up to 56 feet tall and weighed an astonishing 140,000 pounds.  It lived during the early Cretaceous.

Giraffatitan
Giraffatitan was an African genus of Brachiosaurid dating from the Jurassic.  At 40 feet tall, it is the tallest mounted dinosaur skeleton in the world.
