Basic Ankylosaurid Info

Ankylosaurus
Ankylosaurus was an armor-plated ornithopod from the Cretaceous of North America.  With an approximate lenth of 20 feet, Ankylosaurus was a dinosaurian battle tank.  The fused plates on its body offered protection from attacks while its tail club may have been used as a bone-breaking defensive weapon.

Edmontonia
A member of infraorder Ankylosauris, family Nodosauridae, Edmontonia also lived in Cretaceous North America.  It was about the same size as Ankylosaurus and also had body armor.  Though it lacked a tail club, its body was lined with large spikes.  The spikes could have been used for mating purposes, defense, or could have been a result of sexual selection.
